Miner's Shack (Cabins)

Mining was a huge industry in Drumheller and surrounding area. The miners lived in very small houses owned by the railroad, and rented by the miners for $5.25 per month. As the mines closed and as the railroad moved the mine equipment to the new mining locations they also moved the small houses. Communities disappeared over-night. Only a few still remain in the area. Trying to preserve history and as a tribute to Kent's maternal grandfather who was a miner. Kent and Janice decided to move some miners shack's to the Pope Lease Pines and to restore and furnish them just as they would have been years ago. Each will have the typical backyard with a fire pit and picnic table.
For those who wish to experience the life of a miner.....
